Sweet potato and chilli soup

Try making this fantastic soup and enjoy its fiery, chilli flavour. Simple to make and full of flavour, this is guaranteed to become a lunch-time favourite.



  • onion 1, peeled and chopped
  • butter a knob
  • chilli flakes a pinch
  • ground coriander 1tsp
  • garlic 2 cloves, crushed
  • sweet potato 750g, peeled and cut into pieces
  • stock 500ml
  • cheese a handful, grated
  • paprika a pinch


  • Step 1

    Fry the chopped onion in the butter, with the chilli flakes, ground coriander and garlic. Cook for 8 minutes until soft.

    Add the sweet potato and cook for 2 minutes. Pour in the stock, bring to the boil, then simmer for 10 minutes until the veg is soft. Blend and season, then serve with grated cheese and a pinch of paprika.
