Keith Kendrick, group magazines editor
Keith Kendrick is olive magazine's group magazines editor. He has edited magazines as diverse as women’s interests, men’s lifestyle and TV. He is also the editor of Easy Cook and the Home Cooking Series and BBC Good Food magazine. A passionate steak lover and turophile, Keith is a judge for the British Cheese Awards, World Cheese Awards and an Associate of the Academy of Cheese.
Lulu Grimes, group managing editor
Lulu Grimes is currently the managing editor at olive magazine and BBC Good Food. She has wide experience in magazine editorial (Food and Travel and Sainsbury's Magazine), worked as a food editor for Murdoch books in Sydney, where she researched and worked on a series of internationally published food and travel books covering China, India, Thailand, Italy and France. She has also taught a course on food writing at City University and then at Leiths School of Food and Wine, and has published a number of cookbooks. Find Lulu on Instagram @lulugrimes.
Janine Ratcliffe, deputy magazines editor
Janine Ratcliffe is olive magazine’s deputy magazines editor and has worked on the magazine since its launch. Since then she has developed and written thousands of the magazine’s most popular recipes as well as editing the olive 101 series of books for Penguin. Janine is the host of the weekly olive magazine podcast and has also created many of the viral olive recipe videos for social media and YouTube. Janine worked at The Guardian for five years as production manager on the Guardian Weekly. Janine left to study for the one-year diploma at Leiths School of Food and Wine. While at Leiths, she won the BBC Good Food scholarship and spent six months working at BBC Good Food magazine before joining olive magazine full time in 2004.
Cassie Best, food director
Cassie is food director for olive magazine. She trained as a chef at Leiths School of Food and Wine, where she won a place on an internship scheme run with BBC Good Food. In the four years she has been working at olive and BBC Good Food she has created many recipes, with baking being her main passion. Find Cassie on @CassieCooks on Instagram.
Anna Glover, food editor
Anna Glover is olive’s food editor, and a cookery writer and food stylist. She loves whipping up new creations with well-known ingredients to create easily accessible recipes that everyone can make.
Adam Bush, deputy food editor
Adam Bush is olive magazine’s deputy food editor and has been at olive since 2016 He is a professionally trained chef and has worked in some of London’s swankiest kitchens (including Fera at Claridge’s, The Jugged Hare, Chiswell Street Dining Rooms) and a sourdough baker in hip east London, so his expertise comes in writing delicious, imaginative recipes for the people at home, and giving handy, trusted tips for the home cook.
Hannah Guinness, sub editor and drinks writer
Hannah Guinness is olive’s sub editor and drinks writer. She has been at olive since 2017 and has more than eight years’ experience writing for food and lifestyle magazines (including Crumbs). As well as editing olive’s drinks pages, Hannah regularly writes bar and restaurant reviews, recipes, travel and food features for the magazine and website. She’s particularly passionate about Spanish and Chinese food, having lived and travelled extensively in both countries. She also has a WSET Level 1 Award in Spirits. Originally from the West Country, she’s very partial to a pint of proper cider.
Miriam Nice, projects editor
Miriam Nice is projects editor for olive and specialises in drink and cocktails. She has written two books, Cooking Without a Kitchen (2013, Pedestrian Publishing) and The Art of Drinking Sober (2020, Seven Dials), co-written with Richard Davie. Prior to working for us, Miriam had her own catering business and blog. She’s currently making her own video series about tiny food, Will It Cereal? Lily Barclay, group digital editor
Lily Barclay is group digital editor of olivemagazine.com. She started her career working in the CBeebies team on various children's titles in 2009 and has also previously worked on BBC Gardeners' World. Lily has written for National Geographic, BBC Green and Explorer magazine. She has held various positions at BBC Good Food, including senior writer, family editor and editor. She has written extensively on all areas surrounding family food and children's health, and has interviewed various celebrity chefs including John Torode and Jamie Oliver.
Alex Crossley, editor olivemagazine.com
Alex Crossley is olive magazine’s digital editor. She has been at olive since September 2014 after previously working in product development for Marks & Spencer. As well as managing the website, Alex is one of olive’s most prolific travel writers. Alex studied French and Spanish at the University of Bath and has lived and travelled extensively in both countries. During her time at olive, Alex has achieved a distinction in WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) Level 2 Awards in Wines and Spirits, was the winner of New Digital Talent of the Year at the PPA Digital Awards 2018 and was named Digital Rising Star at the AOP Awards 2018.
Tracey Raye, health editor
Tracey Raye is the Health Editor for olive. She oversees all health, nutrition and fitness-related content across the brand. She covers our nourishing recipes and collections, health strategy and stays adrift of the latest health and lifestyle trends – in order to bring you the tools and inspiration you need to find what health means for you. Tracey, MSc, is a registered nutritionist, holding a master’s degree in Personalised Nutrition, as well as further degree qualifications in Psychology and Philosophy. Tracey is a member of the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM), British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). She was named as one of PPA’s 30 under 30 rising stars in 2021.
Georgina Kiely, digital food editor
Georgina is digital food editor of olivemagazine.com and BBC Good Food. She studied English and Spanish at Nottingham University and went on to study a master's in magazine journalism at Nottingham Trent University. She loves creative veggie cooking, indulgent bakes and discovering new whiskies. She has achieved her WSET Level 2 Award in Spirits and is always keen to try new creative drinks. Lucy Roxburgh, reviews editor
Before joining the team as reviews and e-commerce editor, Lucy trained at Leiths and worked as a private chef and digital editor at Tesco Real Food. She works with our team of freelances on producing new content, as well as writing food reviews and gift guides. She also coordinates our Christmas Taste Awards plus the dedicated Wine and Spirits Awards.
Alice Johnston, audience development executive
Alice is the audience development executive for bbcgoodfood.com and olivemagazine.com. She studied geography at the University of Cambridge before working for the National Trust Holidays website and BBC Audiences Research team. Alice runs her own cookie stall in Colwyn Bay artisan market, North Wales.
