Method

  • step 1

Slice the halloumi blocks through the middle, then into chips. Pat dry with kitchen paper and set aside. Stir together the flour, oregano and garlic powder, and season with black pepper. Toss the halloumi chips in the mixture until well coated.

  • step 2

Heat the air fryer to 180C. Using tongs, lay the fries in the basket in a single layer and cook for 10-12 mins, carefully flipping them halfway through. Arrange on a plate to serve, alongside the yogurt drizzled with pomegranate molasses for dipping.

Why use an air-fryer?

The great draw of air-fryers is their ability to circulate air efficiently around ingredients to achieve an evenly cooked, sometimes crisp finish on foods using little to no oil. But they’re also convenient multitaskers, often boasting a host of additional cooking functions to save you money on buying multiple gadgets as well as finding space for storing them. Look out for roast, bake, reheat, sync-cook and more functions. Using an air-fryer instead of your traditional oven for cooking smaller portions can also save money on your energy bills.
