Sprouts with walnuts and bacon

Jazz up your regular sprouts with this delicious and simple recipe. Tender sprouts with crispy lardons and buttery walnuts will make a great side for any Christmas meal.



  • sprouts 750g, trimmed
  • bacon lardons or cubetti de pancetta 70g
  • butter
  • walnut halves 25g, roughly chopped


  • Step 1

    Steam the sprouts until tender but still bright green, about 5 minutes. Fry the lardons in a non-stick pan until crisp and golden, about 3 minutes.

    Add a small knob of butter and the walnuts and stir for a couple of minutes. Toss with the sprouts and serve.
