Soy and sesame sprouts

This Asian soy and sesame twist on sprouts makes a great alternative way to serve this unloved veg



  • sprouts 500g
  • olive oil
  • garlic 1 clove, crushed
  • soy sauce 1 tbsp
  • sesame oil 2 tsp
  • white sesame seeds 1 tbsp, toasted
  • black sesame seeds 1 tbsp


  • Step 1

    Halve and trim the sprouts and steam them for 2 minutes. Drain really well. Heat a little olive oil in a wok or large frying pan, add the sprouts, stir-fry until they are tender and browned at the edges, about 5-10 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute, then add the soy sauce and sesame oil and toss together. Add the sesame seeds and season well.
