Turkey Burger Recipe with Pea Guacamole

Spiced turkey burgers with pea guacamole

A quick, healthy alternative to our favourite hamburger, this smoky chipotle turkey burger is served with an amazing guacamole made from peas – a great substitute for an unripe avocado!



  • turkey mince 200g
  • red onion 2 tbsp, grated
  • chipotle paste 2 tsp
  • coriander 2 tbsp, chopped
  • emmental 2 slices
  • buns 2
  • salad to serve


  • frozen peas 100g, blanched
  • onion 1 tbsp, roughly chopped
  • red chilli ¼, chopped
  • coriander a small handful
  • ground cumin ¼ tsp
  • natural yoghurt 2 tbsp
  • lime a squeeze


  • Step 1

    To make the burgers, put the turkey mince, red onion, chipotle paste and coriander in a bowl. Season, mix well and form into 2 patties.

  • Step 2

    To make the guacamole, put the blanched frozen peas, onion, red chilli, coriander, ground cumin, natural yoghurt and a squeeze of lime in a small food processor and whizz until blended.

  • Step 3

    Cook the burgers in a non-stick pan for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden. Add a slice of emmental, and heat until melted. Serve in buns with the guacamole and salad.
