Flapjack Recipe

Flapjacks are a great easy tray bake. These oaty bars are sticky with golden syrup and brown sugar. Serve them up with a cup of tea or pack into lunch boxes for an energy hit.



  • unrefined light brown sugar 175g
  • butter 150g
  • golden syrup 3 tbsp
  • bicarbonate of soda 1 tsp
  • plain flour 200g
  • oats 200g


  • Step 1

    Pre-heat oven at 180C/fan 160C/gas 4. Melt the sugar, butter, syrup and bicarb in a pan. Then add the flour and oats. Spread into a dish and bake for 20-30 mins, until golden.
