Try this recipe for oat milk, then check out our almond milk, rice milk and horchata for more plant-based alternatives.

To make your own oat milk, you will need:

  • 100g rolled or jumbo oats
  • 1 tsp maple syrup or honey

Method

  • step 1

    Blitz rolled or jumbo oats, maple syrup or honey and 250ml water for 30 seconds (any longer and the mixture will become slimy) in a blender or food processor. Strain through muslin or cheesecloth (you may want to do this twice), discarding the purée. Taste the oat milk and add more syrup if you prefer a sweeter drink, or add more water if you prefer a thinner consistency. Shake or stir before drinking.
