To make your own almond milk, you will need:
- A sheet of muslin to strain. £3.75, Amazon. When straining through muslin or cheesecloth it’s easier to do so in batches.
- A 1l pyrex jug to measure the water. £13.78, Amazon
- A blender to blitz the rice. £54.99, Amazon
Ingredients
- blanched almonds 250g
- maple syrup or honey 1 tsp
Method
-
Step 1
Soak the blanched almonds in water overnight. Drain, then blitz with 500ml water and maple syrup or honey in a blender or food processor until smooth. Strain through muslin or cheesecloth (you may want to do this twice), discarding the purée. Taste the almond milk and add more syrup if you prefer a sweeter drink, or add more water if you prefer a thinner consistency. Shake or stir before drinking.
