The World's 50 Best restaurants is an internationally acclaimed annual list that celebrates the best in the restaurant industry, ranking destinations across the globe, from London to Lima, Copenhagen to Tokyo. Hotly anticipated each year, 2022's results include both established favourites and newcomers.
We attended the 2022 awards, now in its twentieth year, at Old Billingsgate in London, thanks to coffee partners Illy, and have all the details to share with you. Much-loved gourmand Stanley Tucci was the host and announced the winners.
Who won best restaurant in the world 2022?
Geranium, a meat-free restaurant in Copenhagen, was this year’s winner. Rasmus Kofoed is the chef behind the 22-course tasting menu, using the best of the season’s ingredients.
Which London restaurants made the World's 50 Best restaurants list?
Ikoyi, where Iré Hassan-Odukale and Jeremy Chan give the flavours and ingredients of West Africa a slick, fine-dining polish, came in at 49. The Clove Club, Isaac McHale’s modern European restaurant set in Shoreditch Town Hall, received the highest place in the UK, at number 35.
