Ingredients
- 1 sirloin steak, trimmed and sliced into thin strips and then each sliced lengthways in 2
- 2 tbsp cornflour, mixed with Chinese
- 1 tsp five-spice
- oil
- 2 cloves garlic, sliced
- 1cm piece root ginger, shredded
- 1 red chilli, shredded
- 2 medium carrots, shredded
- ¼ dark green cabbage, shredded
- 2 tsp sesame seeds
- to dress ketjap manis or soy sauce
Method
- STEP 1
Toss the beef in the cornflour. Heat a little oil in a wok and when it is nearly smoking, fry the beef until browned. Tip onto a plate.
Add the garlic and ginger to the wok and toss then add the chilli and carrot and a little oil. Brown the carrot quickly.
Add the cabbage and sesame seeds and toss, add the beef, toss and serve. Drizzle with ketjap manis.
