Ingredients
- Szechuan pepper or red chilli flakes 1 tsp, ground with a mortar and pestle
- cornflour 1 tbsp
- steak or minute steaks 2, sliced into strips
- oil
- ginger 2 cm piece, grated
- garlic 1 clove, grated
- red pepper 1, seeded and cut into strips
- spring onions 1 bunch, sliced
- soy sauce 2 tbsp
- beef stock 2 tbsp
- noodles or rice to serve
Method

Step 1
Mix the Szechuan pepper with the cornflour and toss it with the steak strips. Heat a little oil in a wok, add the ginger and garlic, fry for a few seconds and then add the steak and stir for a minute. Add the pepper and spring onion and fry everything together until the pepper softens, then add the soy sauce and stock and toss. Serve over noodles or rice.
