Prawn, basil and harissa pasta

Prawns, harissa and plenty of fresh basil is all you need to make a vibrant pasta dish

  • orecchiette or other pasta shape 200g
  • olive oil 1 tbsp
  • garlic 2 cloves, sliced
  • chopped tomatoes 400g tin
  • Belazu rose harissa 1 tbsp
  • large raw peeled prawns 180g, butterflied
  • butter
  • basil a handful, chopped
  • yogurt to serve


  • Step 1

    Cook the pasta following pack instructions. Heat the olive oil in a pan then add the garlic and cook gently for 2-3 minutes. Tip in the tomatoes and harissa then cover and simmer for 15 minutes until thickened and saucy. Add the prawns and cook for 2-3 minutes or until pink then stir in a knob of butter, the basil and the orecchiette and season.

  • Step 2

    Spoon into warm bowls and add a spoonful of yogurt.
