Great for an afternoon treat, this easy rocky road recipe is an irresistible combination of Crunchie bars, marshmallows, raisins, biscuit chunks and chocolate

  • salted butter 150g, plus extra for the tin
  • golden syrup 3 tbsp
  • dark chocolate 200g
  • milk chocolate 200g
  • Crunchie bars 2 (32g each)
  • mini marshmallows a handful (about 25g)
  • digestive biscuits 200g, broken into pieces
  • raisins a handful (about 30g)


  • Step 1

    Heat the butter, syrup and both chocolates in a small pan over a gentle heat until melted and combined. Tip into a large bowl and leave to cool for 10 minutes.

  • Step 2

    Lightly butter and line a 20cm brownie tin with baking parchment. Put the Crunchie bars into a bowl and bash with the end of a rolling pin until broken into small pieces. Add to the bowl of cooled chocolate with the marshmallows, digestives and raisins and mix everything together well.

  • Step 3

    Tip into the tin and level out. Chill for at least a few hours then cut into 12 pieces.
