  • smoked mackerel fillet 1, broken into pieces
  • lemon zest 1 tsp
  • horseradish 1 tsp, fresh or creamed
  • low-fat soft cheese 1 tbsp
  • low-fat crème fraîche 1 tbsp
  • chives chopped to make 1 tbsp
  • baby gem lettuce 1, leaves separated
  • sourdough toast or crispbreads to serve

Method

  • Step 1

    Pulse the mackerel, lemon zest, horseradish, soft cheese and crème fraîche for a few seconds in a blender until combined. Season well and add the chives. Tip into a small container and serve alongside the salad leaves and sourdough toast or crispbreads.
