Peas with greens

We love frozen peas. For a quick and easy side dish, try this simple recipe of simmering shredded greens and peas in stock and white wine.



  • butter 25g
  • onion 1 small, finely chopped
  • garlic 1 clove, finely chopped
  • greens 300g, shredded
  • white wine a splash
  • frozen peas 200g
  • light chicken stock 100ml


  • Step 1

    Heat the butter in a large, deep frying pan, then add the onion and garlic. Cook for 2-3 minutes until softened, but not coloured. Add the greens and stir-fry for 2 minutes, then pour in the white wine. Simmer for 1 minute.

  • Step 2

    Tip in the peas and pour in the chicken stock. Season then cover and cook for 3-4 minutes, until the greens are wilted and just tender.
