This Japanese-inspired miso pollack with edamame noodles is a fantastic quick and healthy meal, making it perfect for a midweek supper. Under 500 calories and on the table in just 20 minutes.

  • miso paste 2 tbsp (available from most supermarkets)
  • golden caster sugar 1 tbsp
  • lemon 1, juiced
  • pollack 2 × 125g skinless fillets
  • sesame oil 2 tsp
  • red chilli 1, seeded and chopped
  • soba noodles 100g
  • edamame soya beans 150g (M&S and Waitrose sell them in the freezer section)


  • Step 1

    Mix the miso paste with the sugar and 1 tbsp of the lemon juice. Spread over the fish and crack some pepper over.

  • Step 2

    Mix the sesame oil, remaining lemon juice and the chilli. Boil the noodles in salted water, adding the edamame for the last minute. Drain and toss with the dressing.

  • Step 3

    Put the fish on a baking tray and grill for 4 minutes or until crisp at the edges and cooked through. Serve with the noodles.
