Bloody Mary shots with avocado toasts

Make these easy bloody mary shots with avocado toasts to tease your taste buds on Christmas morning and wake you up with a jolt. You can prepare the bloody mary mix the night before if you like.

  • tomato juice 500ml
  • celery salt 1 tsp
  • horseradish sauce 4 tbsp
  • vodka 4 tbsp
  • Tabasco to season
  • Worcestershire sauce to season
  • lemon 1 juiced
  • baguette 8 thin slices
  • avocado 1, finely diced
  • tomato 1, finely diced
  • red onion 1/2 finely diced


  • Step 1

    Mix the tomato juice, celery salt and horseradish with the vodka and then add Tabasco, Worcestershire sauce, some of the lemon juice (save the rest for the avocado) and salt and pepper to taste. Chill until you need it.

  • Step 2

    When you want to serve the shots toast the baguette. Mix the avocado with the tomato and red onion and add a splash of the remaining lemon juice and some seasoning. Pile the avocado mix onto the baguette toasts. Serve shot glasses of the bloody mary (give it a quick stir before you pour it) with toasts on the side.
