Try this recipe for baked spiced sweet potato mash, then check out our sweet potato and miso mash and classic mashed potatoes.

  • 1.5kg sweet potatoes
    peeled and cubed
  • 600g baking potatoes
    peeled and cubed
  • 75g salted butter
    plus a few knobs extra
  • 2 tsp ground coriander
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 lime
    juiced
  • a few sprigs coriander

Method

  • step 1

    Heat the oven to 200C/fan 180C/gas 6. Boil the sweet potatoes and baking potatoes in boiling salted water until tender. Drain really well, then mash with butter, ground coriander, 1 tbsp sugar and lime juice. Season and tip into a large baking dish. Top with a couple more knobs of butter and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden and piping hot. Scatter with the remaining sugar to serve.
