Turmeric chai tea

Turmeric is said to have anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties and has been used as a culinary medicine in India for centuries. This chai tea is really simple to make and perfect if you have any leftover turmeric



  • water 500ml
  • ginger 3 slices
  • turmeric 3 slices
  • cardamon pods 2, squashed
  • cloves 3
  • fennel seeds a pinch
  • almond milk optional
  • honey optional


  • Step 1

    Put the water in a pan. Add the gingerturmeric, squashed cardamom pods, cloves and a pinch of fennel seeds.

  • Step 2

    Simmer for 5 minutes then strain into mugs and drink as it is or add almond milk and honey, if you like.
