Quick onion and goat’s cheese tarts

Whip up these simple onion and goat's cheese tarts in no time at all using store-bought tart cases and a mixture of red onion with caramelised onions, topped off with golden, melted goat's cheese.



  • red onion 1, peeled and sliced
  • caramelised onions
  • olive oil a splash
  • thyme leaves a handful
  • savoury tart cases
  • goat's cheese thick slices 


  • Step 1

    Mix the sliced red onion with some caramelised onions from a jar, a splash of olive oil and some thyme leaves, and roast in a hot oven for 10 minutes or so until the onion has softened a bit.

    Use to fill bought savoury tart cases, then top with thick slices of goat’s cheese before sticking back in the oven for another 10 minutes or so until the cheese is golden.
