Burmese margarita
This zingy cocktail is a fun riff on the classic. To make the jaggery syrup, mix one part jaggery with one part water in a pan, bring to the boil, then cool

While an old fashioned is traditionally made with whisky it also works beautifully with any barrel-aged spirit – try doing the same with dark rum or cognac.
Put the agave syrup and the bitters in an old fashioned glass, and stir until combined. Fill the glass with ice, pour over the tequila and stir. Garnish with the orange peel and a maraschino cherry.
