  • ½ tsp mild chilli powder
  • 25ml lime juice, plus the zest of ½ a lime (reserve one squeezed lime wedge)
  • 50ml blanco or reposado tequila
  • 25ml triple sec (we used Cointreau)
  • dash of hot sauce


  • STEP 1

    Mix together 1 tsp of salt, the chilli powder and lime zest, and sprinkle onto a saucer. Rub the reserved lime wedge around the rim of a margarita or coupe glass, then dip in the chilli salt to cover the rim.

  • STEP 2

    Put the lime juice, tequila, triple sec and hot sauce in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake well. Strain into the glass and serve.
