Cranberry and red wine sauce

This grown-up cranberry and red wine sauce is our best ever accompaniment to turkey. Whole cranberries, red wine, cinnamon and star anise are combined to make this deliciously sweet sauce.



  • red wine 250ml
  • oranges 2, juiced
  • star anise
  • cinnamon stick 1
  • golden caster sugar 2 tbsp
  • cranberries 500g, fresh or frozen


  • Step 1

    Put everything in a pan and simmer until the liquid has reduced and the cranberries are jammy.

    Fish out the cinnamon stick and star anise before serving. Serve warm or cold.
