If the idea of left-over Easter egg chocolate is a foreign concept to you, swap in good-quality dark chocolate. A drizzle of syrup from the jar of cherries lends extra fruity depth.


Choc cherry martini recipe

  • 100ml vodka
  • 100g Easter egg dark chocolate
    or 70% dark chocolate
  • 1 tbsp maraschino liqueur
  • 50ml dark crème de cacao
    or chocolate liqueur
  • maraschino cherries
    to garnish, plus a drizzle of the syrup from the jar (optional)

Method

  • step 1

    Melt the chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water or in short blasts in the microwave. Whisk together the chocolate and vodka in a jug until smooth. Add the liqueurs plus a drizzle of cherry syrup, if you like. Pour into a shaker with ice, shake briefly and divide between two martini glasses. Garnish with maraschino cherries threaded onto a cocktail skewer.
