  • 150g spaghetti or linguine
  • 1/2 clove garlic
    crushed
  • dried chilli flakes
    a good pinch
  • 6 SunBlush tomatoes
    chopped
  • 1 large plum tomato
    diced
  • 1 tbsp small capers
  • 12 pitted black olives
    quartered
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 150g tin tuna
    drained
  • a few leaves basil
    to serve

Method

  • step 1

    Cook the pasta in boiling salted water. Meanwhile put the garlic, chilli flakes, tomatoes, capers and olives in a pan with the olive oil. Simmer, letting all the ingredients stew together for about 5 minutes without colouring. Stir in the tuna and heat gently, being careful not to overmix.

  • step 2

    Drain the pasta and keep 2-3 tbsp of the cooking water. Tip the pasta into the tomato mixture along with the reserved cooking water and some seasoning. Toss everything together. Just before serving, scatter with basil leaves.
