Michelada recipe

  • Taijin or chilli salt
  • 1 tbsp freshly squeezed lime juice
    (reserve the lime wedge)
  • 2-3 dashes hot sauce
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • pinch of salt
  • 300ml bottle of light Mexican beer
    (like Sol, Corona or any other light beer), well chilled

Method

  • step 1

    Spread the chilli salt on a saucer. Run the reserved lime wedge around the rim of a large highball glass, then dip the rim in the chilli salt.

  • step 2

    Put the lime juice, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce and a pinch of salt in the glass. Fill the glass with ice, top up with the beer and gently stir. You can continue to top up the glass with beer as you drink.

  • step 3

    Top up the glass with ice, then pour in the michelada mixture and top up with beer.
