Cauliflower Cheese Recipe with Gammon

Gammon and cauliflower cheese grills

Ingredients

  • raw gammon steaks 4
  • cauliflower 1, broken in to florets
  • wholegrain mustard 1 tbsp
  • half-fat crème fraiche 100ml
  • cheddar cheese 50g, grated

Method

  • Step 1

    Heat the grill to high. Snip the sides of the raw gammon steaks with kitchen scissors so they don’t curl up too much when they cook. Put the gammon onto a baking tray, then grill on one side for about 10 minutes until the fat is crisp. Flip it over and cook on the other side for another 10 minutes.

  • Step 2

    Meanwhile, cook the florets from 1 large cauliflower in boiling water until tender. Drain and tip into a bowl with wholegrain mustard, half-fat crème fraîche and grated cheddar cheese and toss. Spoon the cauliflower mix over the gammon, sprinkle with a small handful of grated cheddar, then grill for 5 minutes until bubbling and golden.
