Learn how to remove pomegranate seeds properly in just 20 seconds (watch the video above). All you'll need is a wooden spoon and a bit of brute force.

Step-by-step guide: how to remove pomegranate seeds


1. Cut your pomegranate in half along its circumference.

2. Taking one half at a time, and working over a bowl, squeeze the fruit to loosen the seeds.

3. Bash the top of the pomegranate with a wooden spoon to release all the seeds.

20 minutes, serves 2, easy

quinoa 150g

vegetable stock cube ½

pine nuts 75g

pomegranate 1, seeds removed

mint a small handful, chopped

coriander a small handful, chopped

lime 1, juiced

extra-virgin olive oil

Cook the quinoa according to pack instructions adding the vegetable stock cube to the cooking water. Leave to cool, then break up with a fork.

step 2

Meanwhile, toast the pine nuts in a dry frying pan until lightly golden. Mix the pine nuts, pomegranate seeds, herbs, lime juice and 4 tbsp oil through the quinoa.
