Mr Lyan’s Fireside flip

A whole egg makes this fireside slip feel really luxurious. Mr Lyan describes it as 'basically a boozy custard with comforting, malty notes and fruity/nutty flavours'



  • ginger a coin-sized piece
  • honey 1 tbsp
  • sloe gin 30ml
  • whisky 25ml (pick a honeyed-style one like Highland Park 12)
  • egg 1
  • Angostura bitters 1 dash
  • ice
  • nutmeg to serve


  • Step 1

    Crush the ginger and honey in the shaker. Add the other ingredients and shake without rice, then shake with ice and double strain into a chilled sherry glass. Garnish with fresh nutmeg.
