A thickie is just a heartier version of a smoothie, so it makes a great breakfast choice. This one is loaded with spinach, kale, banana and rolled oats

Ingredients

  • spinach a large handful
  • kale a large handful
  • banana 1 large
  • maple syrup 1-2 tbsp
  • oat milk (or other plant milk) 150ml, plus a little extra
  • rolled oats 3 tbsp
  • flax seeds 1 tbsp
  • ice to serve

Method

  • Step 1

    Put all of the ingredients except the ice into a blender or food processor and whizz until smooth, adding a little extra oat milk if it’s too thick to drink. Pour the thickie into two glasses with ice and drink straight away.
