Sugar syrup – made with caster or brown sugar and water – is an essential ingredient in many cocktail recipes. Learn how to make your own

  • caster or brown sugar 200g


  • Step 1

    Put the caster or brown sugar in a pan with 100ml of water and stir over a low heat until the sugar has dissolved.

  • Step 2

    Cool completely and pour into a sterilised bottle. Keep in the fridge for up to a month. Brown sugar syrup is ideal for cocktails made with darker spirits, such as an old fashioned.
