Spiralized Fries Recipe with Piri-Piri Spice

Curly, crispy and spicy, spiralizing and deep frying potatoes will give you golden crunchy nests of fries. Top with a simple piri-piri spice mix for extra heat or just sprinkle with sea salt



  • floury potatoes 2 large
  • oil for frying
  • paprika ½ tsp
  • oregano ¼ tsp
  • garlic salt ¼ tsp
  • chill flakes a good pinch
  • sea salt ¼ tsp


  • Step 1

    Spiralize the potatoes and pat dry with kitchen paper. Toss with a few good pinches of the spice mix.

  • Step 2

    Heat the oil in a large pan no more than 1/3 full. When temperature reaches 180C (or when a piece of white bread tuns golden in 30 seconds) carefully lower in the fries.

  • Step 3

    Fry for 3-4 minutes until crisp and golden. Drain on kitchen paper then sprinkle over a little more spice mix to serve.
