Recreate this Indo-Chinese recipe from Soho’s chic Kolkata-inspired café, Fatt Pundit. A sophisticated sour, this tipple makes the most of fresh guava

Try this guava cocktail from Fatt Pundit and pair with the restaurant's crispy okra recipe. Also check out our amaretto sour, whisky sour, pisco sour and more cocktail sours.

  • 25g guava, sliced, or use Boiron guava purée, 25ml
  • 50ml tequila (we use Calle 23)
  • 15ml agave syrup
  • 1 lime, juiced to make 25ml, plus extra wedges for the garnish
  • 25ml guava juice
  • a pinch chilli powder, plus extra for the rim
  • a pinch Himalayan pink salt or sea salt flakes, plus extra for the rim

  • STEP 1

Put the sliced guava into a cocktail shaker and mash lightly with a muddler. Add the tequila, agave syrup, lime juice, guava juice, chilli powder and salt.

  • STEP 2

Fill a shaker with ice. Put a mixing glass over the cocktail shaker, hold together firmly and shake back and forth 10-15 times.

  • STEP 3

Mix together a few pinches of chilli powder and salt on a plate.

  • STEP 4

Run a lime wedge around the rim of a rock glass and dip the glass into the chilli mixture (rim just half the glass if you don’t want it too spicy). Strain the cocktail into the lined rock glass filled with ice.
