  • 1 small celeriac
    peeled and cut into chunks
  • milk
  • oil
  • 2 sirloin steaks
    thick cut
  • 1 red onion
    sliced
  • 1 glass red wine
  • 1 tsp brown sugar

Method

  • step 1

    Simmer the celeriac in water for about 15 minutes or until it is tender. Drain and mash with milk and lots of seasoning.

  • step 2

    Put a little oil in a hot frying pan and add the steaks, add the onion around the edges and cook for 2 minutes. Turn the steaks over and stir the onions around. After 2 minutes, add the red wine and brown sugar and bubble everything together to make a sauce. Season well and serve with the mash.
