Sesame-chocolate toast with sea salt

  • Easy

What could be better than warm and freshly toasted bread with a dollop of melting chocolate on top? We've added a sprinkle of sea salt and sesame seeds to boost this sweet combination

This sounds strange but tastes delicious. The sea salt, olive oil and sesame really enhance the chocolate flavour.

  • small baguette 1, thinly sliced
  • extra-virgin olive oil
2 tbsp, plus a drizzle more
  • tahini 2 tsp
  • 70% dark chocolate about 100g, snapped into chunks
  • sea salt 2 tsp
  • sesame seeds 2 tsp

  • Step 1

Heat the oven to 200C/fan 180C/gas 6. Space the baguette slices out on baking sheets.

  • Step 2

Mix the olive oil with the tahini and brush over both sides of the bread. Bake for 3-5 minutes until crisp and golden, then flip and finish the other side for a couple of minutes.

  • Step 3

Sit squares of chocolate on the toasts and put back into the oven for a minute to melt. Sprinkle with sea salt, a few sesame seeds and a splash more olive oil to serve.
