This sounds strange but tastes delicious. The sea salt, olive oil and sesame really enhance the chocolate flavour.

  • 1 small baguette
    thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
    plus a drizzle more
  • 2 tsp tahini
  • about 100g 70% dark chocolate
    snapped into chunks
  • 2 tsp sea salt
  • 2 tsp sesame seeds

Method

  • step 1

    Heat the oven to 200C/fan 180C/gas 6. Space the baguette slices out on baking sheets.

  • step 2

    Mix the olive oil with the tahini and brush over both sides of the bread. Bake for 3-5 minutes until crisp and golden, then flip and finish the other side for a couple of minutes.

  • step 3

    Sit squares of chocolate on the toasts and put back into the oven for a minute to melt. Sprinkle with sea salt, a few sesame seeds and a splash more olive oil to serve.
