Peckham Cellars wine club

Peckham Cellars wine subscription review

A restaurant that has its own wine subscription service? We tested out the Peckham Cellars new Club Del Vino wine subscription

Peckham Cellars is a neighbourhood restaurant and wine shop that opened in south-east London in 2019 and quickly moved to online wine sales when covid struck, offering informative but fun live online tastings with real community spirit. It's just launched a monthly wine club subscription, Club Del Vino.

Each month’s selection is based on a theme: a country, region or wine style. Opt for four bottles for £80 or six for £120, then choose all reds, all whites or a mixed case that might include sparkling and/or orange wines. There’s free next-day delivery for all orders over £80 and membership can be paused or cancelled at any time.

The emphasis is on wines from small producers using low-intervention techniques, with a fair smattering of funky natural wines. Our box includes a cracking fizz made with indigenous grapes by famed Portuguese winemaker Filipa Pato and an on-trend bourgogne aligoté from biodynamic maker Goisot. Wines arrive with tasting notes, food pairing suggestions and lovely recipes to suit each one.

Club Del Vino membership gives access to exclusive tastings and events and 10 per cent off in the wine shop (both online and in store) and Peckham Cellars restaurant, and first orders also receive a Club Del Vino tote bag. Packaging is recycled and recyclable, and for every delivery sent, it plants a tree to help offset its environmental impact.

Geared towards adventurous drinkers with a sense of fun, this is a really engaging (and engaged) wine club for those looking to drink outside of the usual subscription box.
