Crispin is a restaurant and natural wine bar in London’s Spitalfields (a new venture, Bar Crispin in Soho’s Kingley Street, is due to open in summer 2021). Its wide range of wine club subscription boxes offer unusual wines from modern European winemakers.

Ordering is easy with lots of flexibility: opt for three bottles for £55 or five bottles for £90, and choose from white and orange, all red or a mixed case that can be delivered every two, four, six or eight weeks in recyclable packaging. Gift subscriptions of monthly boxes for two, three or six months are also available.

Wines are chosen by in-house sommelier Stefano Cazzato and focus on natural, biodynamic and low-intervention wines from small producers and cooperatives using old-world indigenous and rare grape varieties. Alongside some easy-drinking bottles, subscription cases also include some funky wines. Tasting cards with details on the winemaking and wineries are sent by email when your wine is dispatched. Our box includes a skin-contact vinho verde aged in clay amphorae from the pioneering Aphros winery in Portugal and a wonderfully wild and crunchy biodynamic carignan from Saskia Van Der Horst in France. Subscribers also receive a 20 per cent discount code for dining at either of Crispin’s restaurants, and questions or special requests are welcomed via email.

Crispin offers brave wines for brave drinkers – an excellent way to explore the world of natural wines for yourself or as a present for a fortunate friend.
