It’s the most wonderful time of the year – London Wine Week is here again. After the success of the launch last year, the team is back for more parties, pop-ups and, of course, great tastings.
London has seen a flurry of new wine bar openings over the last couple of years, but the sad fact is that many of us are still ordering the same Marlborough sauvignon blanc we have been for the best part of a decade. London Wine Week wants to change that. With everyone from classic hotel bars and high-end restaurants to quirky independents taking part, all offering a tasting wine flight for just £5, you’ll have access to some of the best venues and wines that London has to offer.
Plus, many venues will also be offering pairing menus, special corkage deals and drop-in tastings, and there are over 50 other events going on throughout the week. Olive likes the sound of the WSET’s ‘wine bluff to wine buff’ masterclass at Hixter Bankside, and a journey around the WineTubeMap at LWW’s workshop, which takes a more unusual approach to wine tasting, including matching to music and popcorn.
London Wine Week runs from Monday 18 – Sunday 24 May. Wristbands cost £10. Visit londonwineweek.com and follow @LDNWineWeek on twitter for more information. See you there!
