On 2 March 2015 the Princess Victoria in Shepherd’s Bush, London will host a truly British affair: the Great British Pie Off! British chefs from restaurants such as Newman Street Tavern, The Truscott Arms, Social Eating House, and The Dairy will put forward their own personal twist on the traditional pork pie to be judged by a panel of experts.
The judges are Selfridges’ Restaurants Director Hannah Bass, ‘Pie Man’ Andy Bates and chefs Rowley Leigh and Henry Harris. This expert panel will decide on a ‘Pork Pie Champion’, whose winning pie will be exclusively stocked in Selfridges Food Hall on 7 and 8 March to mark the end of British Pie Week.
The event costs only £10 per person, and includes a bottle of Portobello Brewing Co star beer, samples of the pork pies and Sipsmith Gin tasters. You will even be able to participate in the judging for the People’s Pie Award! All proceeds will be donated to Action Against Hunger, a charity that its committed to ending child hunger.
