How the best vegan mayonnaise taste test worked

Five members of the olive team conducted a blind taste test to find the best shop-bought vegan mayonnaise. We tasted all of the biggest vegan mayonnaise brands widely available in the UK. The group chose an overall winner and a runner-up.

Overall winner: Sacla’ Free From Mayonnaise

About the vegan mayonnaise: Sacla’ free from mayonnaise is made without dairy, egg and gluten. The ingredients include carrot and apple concentrate as well as wine vinegar and potato protein.

Comments: This dairy, egg and gluten free mayonnaise was our overall winner with a creamy, silky smooth texture, nutty flavour and well-balanced acidity. It looks like real mayo and we don't think people would be able to tell the difference.
