Which gin pairs with cheese plus 2 new gin recipes

We have two great gin recipes. Firstly, the perfect gin cocktail to complement a cheeseboard from bar manager Fabio Fritolli at the Shenkman Bar at Keeper's House in London plus a refreshing spring gin cocktail.

Gin plus cheese?  If, like olive, this is your idea of heaven, you’ll need this recipe from the Shenkman Bar at Keeper’s House, The Royal Academy. Bar manager Fabio Fritolli has created the perfect cocktail to complement a cheeseboard.  The Keeper’s Bridge includes amontillado sherry which pairs beautifully with the Tunworth, comte and Berkswell on the board.  Try it!

The Keeper’s Bridge

Plymouth gin 40ml

amontillado 20ml

dry vermouth 10ml (Fabio uses Riserva Carlo Alberto)

pineapple syrup 5ml

Angostura bitters – a dash

Stir all the ingredient over ice then strain into a coupe with a twist of orange peel.

The Shenkman Bar Gin Garden menu includes ten gin-based cocktails  including this delicate spring-like 22nd Century, best enjoyed in the sunshine:

22nd Century

Elephant Gin 50ml

Lillet blanc 25ml

pink peppercorn syrup 25ml

crème de cacao blanc 5ml

lemon juice

Shake all ingredients together and serve in a chilled martini glass. Decorate with a dry lemon slice if you like.
