This pre-prohibition-style cocktail is from the new spring/summer menu from Nightjar, the multi-award-winning speakeasy in Shoreditch. Cocktail genius Marian Beke heads up the bar here.

Ingredients

  • Bulleit Rye infused with pickling spices 50ml
  • puréed gherkin juice  10ml
  • blood orange marmalade 3 tsp
  • grenadine 2.5ml
  • lemon juice  15ml 

Method

  • Step 1

    Put all of the ingredients into a shaker filled with ice and shake hard until the tin frosts. Strain into a chilled coupette glass and serve. You can also dust the rim with the spice rum, if you like.
