Top 5 brand new food & drink products: June 2015

Every month we choose our favourite brand new food and drink products that are available on supermarket shelves. For July, we've picked some healthy snack bars (made with date nectar), a new grab-and-go salad, an impressive microwavable risotto, dried pineapple chunks, and lemony biscuits.

Beloved

We’re always on the lookout for healthy snacks – these Beloved pumpkin and sunflower seed bars aren’t too sweet, because date nectar is used in place of sugar. Great texture too, thanks to the whole rolled oats.

£1.98/box of 4, Asda.

Morso

Microwaved risotto? It really works. As a quick lunch, we’d recommend Morso Food’s new range of fresh and creamy risottos, designed to be finished off in the microwave. The portobello mushroom, garlic, rosemary and red wine flavour is best.

£5.99/280g, available from Selfridges.

Steve’s Leaves

Steve’s Leaves has brought out a new just-for-one salad bowl. The luscious leafy tomato trio comes with baby watercress, piccolo tomatoes, sun-dried tomatoes and a punchy tomato thyme dressing…lovely as a side dish or quick snack.

£2.39/130g, Waitrose.

Urban Fruit

Urban Fruit’s dried pineapple chunks are gently baked and kept free from sugars and preservatives. We like the chewy texture and the fact that the small snack packs don’t take up much room.

£1/35g, Ocado.com

Lemon Drizzle Day biscuits

Lemon drizzle cake in biscuit form? Yes please. Lemon Drizzle Day biscuits, from a new, deliciously different range by Border, are made extra zesty with candied lemon peel and a zigzag of lemon icing.

£1.60/160g, widely available.
